The management about 2017’s successes and 2018’s goals

In the last days of 2017 year HR manager Mihaela decided to ask our Managing Director and Head of Business Development Department about corporate visions for 2018 and challenges we have faced last year. It is always interesting to understand how the success is achieved and what special “ingredients” we need for it. Her conversation with Serghei and Veronica is in the following article. Let the new year bring all your wishes to life!

Serghei Covali, Managing Director

Could you please tell us the story of Best4u Development? How did everything start here in Moldova?

“Best4u started in Moldova in December 2011. With just 2 people for the first 3 months. I enjoyed that period a lot, with a lot of dedication and a very close connection to the Dutch office. We had stand up meetings every morning with our project managers in Holland. From the start the performance was good, that is why we started to grow very quickly. In just one year we grew with 500%, so we hired 10 developers. We had a lot of talks with our Dutch colleagues, which improved our English very quickly and gave us a better understanding of the West European culture and way of thinking.”

You started working at Best4u Development as a Junior Developer and now you are the Managing Director of this growing company. What’s the secret of your success?

“Actually the biggest secret of all successes in this world is very simple: you need to give 101% of yourself during working hours. And work smart, not just hard. There were times that I had no free time at all because I had to work and learn so much, especially in my first year at Best4u. At that time I understood that I was not good enough to deal with all my tasks, so I started to do everything to fix that very quickly. I learned a lot of things about web development, and never had delays in deadlines, still being student at University. You need to be ready for sacrifices in order to achieve something more.”

Tell me 3 words you associate with Best4u in 2017.

“Focus, structure and rhythm.”

What were the main challenges for Best4u Development in 2017?

“The main challenge for Best4u Development was to achieve the best qualitative products we could ever do, and I am proud to tell that together with a whole team we succeeded to do that. And I am even more proud to tell that this is not my achievement, it is the achievement of the people working at Best4u, they did it as a team of professional, dedicated and hardworking people.”

How would you describe the mission of Best4u Development for 2018?

“We have a lot of things to achieve in 2018, and of course we will achieve them as we did in 2017. Our main focus will be on sales department, to continue work optimisation we started this year, Best4u Academy, marketing and share all our successes with the team.”

Is there anything you would like to wish to all of our colleagues for 2018?

“Sure. First of all I want to thank them for the good job they all did in 2017. They are the most important asset of Best4u. Let 2018 bring more success in their lifes, good mood, health and accomplishment of their goals, even the most ambitious ones!”

Veronica Covali, Head of Business Development Department

You’re joining our team since September 2017, having a brilliant career in sales. What is your role in Best4u International?

“Joining Best4u International represented a next level in my career as Business Development Manager. After 6 successful years working with clients all over the world I understood this is what I like and love to do. Here, I have one single aim, to present to the world/external partners what great job is done by talented developers, my colleagues. We already extended our list of partners in 3 new European countries such as Ireland, Germany and Poland. My impact was possible only with the help of our skilled teams that proved their efficiency from the very first project done up until now.”

What do you like most about our company? What makes Best4u different from other companies?

“Fruits day! I enjoy those days when we get our vitamin dose!” – laughing – “Of course there are several things I like in this company. Generally speaking this is the people, work process and management. I think Best4u has the perfect recipe for a success company and for making team members feel good and most of all appreciated. So, from all the points I will choose the appreciation and trust I receive daily here. This motivates me to work harder and in the same time I feel happier.”

Tell me 3 words you associate with Best4u in 2017.

“Innovation, passion, quality.”

What are you proud of in 2017?

“I made a significant change in 2017 that marked me as a professional considerably. After 6 years working in a different sector and company I entered the IT business. 5 years ago I was even joking that the day I will work in a web development company the sun will stop shining. I always considered this sector to be unreachable to me but here I am and I plan a very long ride in front. After 4 months I finally got to understand all IT jokes done by my colleagues, which is great :-).”

Is there anything you would like to wish to all of our colleagues for 2018?

“Never stop chasing your dreams and rediscover yourself each day. We have a precious gift called time and we should use it to the maximum capacity as to fulfil the list of goals we set. I hope 2018 will be a good period to do everything you did not succeed the past year or years. And don’t forget to spend time with your loved ones/family!”
